Graham Hall | Casting the Net
Sunday, 4 May, 10:15am – 11:00am | Free
Curious about the multiple benefits of participating in global print events and exhibitions? Join artist and educator Graham Hall as he shares his journey in international printmaking, a path that has opened his eyes to a vibrant global community of artists and inspired fresh ideas in his practice.
Graham will outline several key international experiences, including Wrexham Print in the UK, where his work was first showcased outside of New Zealand, and The Silk Road Exhibition in Xi’an, China, which further fuelled his passion for global printmaking traditions and led to additional exhibitions across Europe.
His invitation to exhibit his work and present a paper on printmaking in New Zealand secondary schools at the Yerevan Print Biennale in Armenia not only allowed him to showcase his art but also to elevate New Zealand’s presence in the printmaking world and connect with fellow printmakers from around the globe.
Graham will also discuss how these international experiences have profoundly influenced his approach to printmaking, enhancing his technical skills and deepening his understanding of the medium within a global context.
